Dianas Notes from the City

A Farm to Table Restaurant in Lakeview

Hello all! So I officially decided that my favorite months of the year are definitely September to October. If you didn’t know and I haven’t said it enough, fall is beyond my favorite season, and you will see as my next post will be full of leaves, colors, and pumpkins. But, since that post is not quite ready yet, I thought it was time I posted about some Chicago restaurants.

In Florida, I always had a list for all the restaurants I wanted to visit, however Chicago is just another story! I decided to not even attempt to do a list because it would be never ending. Not only that, but you can find anything from a Michelin star restaurant to some of the best hole in the wall restaurants, and I’m a lover of all.

That being the case, strolling around the city, I ran into one of the cutest restaurant tucked away in the Lakeview neighborhood. Surrounded by pretty houses is Farm Bar, an American farm to table restaurant offering tap wines and craft beer, along with affordable Midwestern fare based on locally sourced ingredients. It is so Midwestern influenced, that it was actually my first time trying the famous Wisconsin cheese curds as an appetizer. Even though their menu tends to change I very highly recommend the Wisconsin lamb burger. Some times it is ok to have lamb in your burger, and I just can’t say enough how good it was! But if lamb iss just not your thing, my second favorite was  the Michigan Harvest burger. I really wish I lived next door to this restaurant for a perfect Sunday brunch or Saturday burger. Well enough said, did I make you hungry already?
